Radja Nainggolan has been urged to consider joining Chelsea by current AS Roma teammate Kostas Manolas.
The Belgian international rejected a move to the Stamford Bridge outfit last summer in order to stay at the Stadio Olimpico and has gone on to impress this season by scoring nine times as well as registering three assists in 28 Serie A appearances.
However, Manolas has urged the 28-year-old to overcome his fear of bad weather in England if he wants to play for one of the best clubs in European football.
“Nainggolan doesn’t like the rain, but he is among the best midfielders in the world and has to get accustomed to that too if he wants to play in the best teams,” the Greek central defender told Mediaset Premium, as reported by Football Italia.
“He can do it, because he’s a phenomenon. Let’s be honest, we’re not up to the standard of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.”
Usually renowned for excellent ability in winning possession back expertly, Nainggolan has developed his game further this season as in addition to his goals he’s also created 44 chances – the second highest total across the entire squad – and has completed 24 take-ons.
That improvement has made him a marked man in Serie A this year as he’s the most fouled player in the Roma squad – suffering 47 – but has managed to keep his cool as he’s only been booked twice; both as a result of his tackling.
Radja Nainggolan has an average pass accuracy of 78% for Roma in Serie A this season.
