Barcelona are reportedly plotting a stunning raid on Chelsea this summer after watching three stars during Monday’s 2-1 win over West Ham.
According to Marca, sporting director Robert Fernandez and scout Urbano Ortega were present at the London Stadium as they prepare to welcome in a new manager at the end of the season.
Luis Enrique has announced he will be leaving his post as Barcelona boss, and a different gaffer means new signings are inevitable.
It’s claimed the Spanish giants are interested in bringing Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso and Nemanja Matic to the Nou Camp.
Like Chelsea, Barca have switched to a 3-4-3 formation and the talented trio suit the system extremely well.
Azpilicueta could be ideal to play alongside Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti at the back, while Matic would provide the beef currently lacking in midfield.
Alonso claims he turned down Barcelona last summer, but may find a second offer too hard to turn down should one arrive.
The report adds that Fernandez and Ortega also took the opportunity to run the rule over Hector Bellerin at the Emirates on Tuesday evening.
But they won’t have been too impressed by his performance, with Arsenal suffering a humiliating 10-2 aggregate defeat to Bayern Munich in their Champions League knockout clash.
