Chelsea forward Eden Hazard is not intending to push for a move to Real Madrid in the summer.
The Spanish giants have chased the Belgian for a number of years, a move they hoped would be possible to complete as manager Zinedine Zidane is Hazard’s idol.
Real could splash out in the summer after being banned from signing any players in January by FIFA, and Hazard would have fitted their ‘Galactico’ model as a marquee addition.
But according to the Evening Standard, Hazard has no intention of leaving Stamford Bridge in the near future.
The 26-year-old still has three years on his contract with the Blues and has returned to his best form as Antonio Conte’s side have dominated the Premier League this campaign.
That could have created doubts about Hazard’s future in west London, especially after comments he made earlier this season.
He said: ‘If I ever leave, it’ll be after winning a championship. You need to go out on a high so that people remember you for the right reasons.’
However, Hazard is settled in London with his family and, even if Chelsea do win the league, he does not want to move.
The Belgium international has scored 11 goals this season after manager Conte moved him to a more central role in his 3-4-3 formation.
