MARCOS ALONSO has admitted he doesn’t know if he will be selected for Chelsea’s FA Cup quarter-final clash with Manchester United on Monday.
The Spaniard has been in superb form for the Blues this season but Antonio Conte has rested him in the competition so far.
Alonso is keen to line up at Stamford Bridge against the Red Devils on Monday but thinks the Italian might continue to rotate.
“It has been good for me to rest from time to time in the FA Cup,” he told the Daily Telegraph.
“I’m happy because the team kept winning and that’s the most important thing.
“Now we have a big game against United and let’s see [if the manager keeps rotating]. I do not know if I will play.
“Let’s see what the manager decides. I have to recover from the game against West Ham to be ready if the coach decides to use me.”
Alonso has been a surprise success this season after moving to Chelsea from Fiorentina in the summer.
He was met with skepticism by many Blues fans after less than impressive spells at Bolton and Sunderland.
But he has proven them all wrong and helped Conte’s side to the top of the Premier League with just 11 matches to go.
