Antonio Conte is reportedly lining up a double move for Monaco duo Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva in the summer.
The pair were impressive in midweek as they helped the French side progress through to the Champions League quarter-finals with a 3-1 win over Manchester City.
Mendy has impressed in his left-back role for free-scoring Monaco in Ligue 1 and the Champions League, while midfielder Silva has caught the eye of many of Europe’s top clubs.
Conte, whose side look set to lift the Premier League title, will be keen to add reinforcements to his squad with a return to the Champions League back on the agenda next season.
Mendy would give some much-needed competition for Marcos Alonso who has impressed since moving to Stamford Bridge from Fiorentina in August.
The 22-year-old only joined the club in the summer from Marseille, but he has impressed for Leonardo Jardim’s team with 10 assists so far.
The attack-minded full-back was rewarded for his fine form earlier this week with Didier Deschamps calling him into the French national team for the first time.
Chelsea will have a battle on their hands to secure his signature with Arsenal and Manchester United two of the clubs reportedly interested in the player.
Mendy’s teammate, Silva, has also come to the attention of Europe’s top clubs throughout the season with his eye-catching displays.
The Portuguese international, who insists he is happy with the Ligue 1 leaders, has admitted that he would one day like to play in England or Spain.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are just two of the clubs that have kept an eye on the player, who is known for his quick footwork and vision.
Silva has scored eight goals for Monaco in all competitions and he is expected to command a big fee if he does leave the Stade Louis II in the summer.
