ANTONIO CONTE wants Andreas Christensen back at Chelsea this summer.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who say the Borussia Monchengladbach loan star is set to slot into the Blues’ first-team squad.
Christensen has spent the past two seasons on loan in Germany, racking up almost 70 senior appearances and drawing widespread acclaim.
And his father and adviser, Sten, revealed in January that the Bundesliga outfit are keen to keep hold of him for the long-term.
Christensen Sr told Danish newspaper BT: “They’d like to buy Andreas.”
However, it appears Chelsea have made their mind up on where Christensen’s future lies – for the 2017/18 campaign at least.
The Daily Mail suggest the 20-year-old will be afforded the opportunity to compete for a place in Conte’s starting XI.
And they indicate Chelsea are prepared to quote a hefty asking price if anyone interested in signing Christensen comes calling.
Conte has been linked with a host of potential defensive recruits since succeeding Jose Mourinho in the Stamford Bridge hotseat.
But it now appears Chelsea are going to look to avoid adding to their backline outlay by giving Christensen the chance to shine.
