WILLIAN reckons Eden Hazard’s success is down to his pace.
The Brazilian says his Chelsea team-mate is the quickest at the club.
And the 28-year-old believes that there is a need for speed in the Premier League when you are playing where Hazard does.
Speaking to FourFourTwo, he said: “You need pace to be a modern winger.
“The fastest player I’ve faced is Theo Walcott at Arsenal, and Eden Hazard is probably the fastest player at Chelsea.
“In England it’s rare to find a slow winger.
“If you are slow, you’ll be better off as a midfielder – maybe a No.10.
You need to be clever and use a change of pace to beat defenders.”
Willian reckons the speed of the Premier League differentiates it from the other leagues in the world.
He added: “The Premier League is different to other leagues as it is faster and more competitive.
“Football in Brazil and Ukraine is slower, which gives you more time to decide what you want to do with the ball.
“Here, there is no time.”
