Jurgen Klopp admitted Liverpool are struggling to keep up with Chelsea after the Reds fell six points behind the Blues in the Premier League title race.
Liverpool were held to a point by West Ham after keeper Loris Karius blundered again for the Hammers’ two strikes from Dimitri Payet and Michail Antonio.
But the Reds also needed a gift from Hammers goalkeeper Darren Randolph for Divock Origi to level it up after Adam Lallana had put them into an early lead.
Chelsea have won their last nine league games while Liverpool have now just a point from their last two.
But Kop boss Klopp warned the league leaders that the heat will soon be on them as the fixtures pile up over Christmas.
Klopp said: “It’s difficult to stay in the race with Chelsea when they win everything and we didn’t.
“I don’t think about it. When we were first or second I wasn’t thinking about it.
“This is the moment to collect points as much as possible.
“The season is very long, and as everybody knows the most intense time is coming now.”
