Antonio Conte has revealed Eden Hazard’s knee injury is not too serious and he should return in time for the league leaders’ hectic Christmas schedule.
Hazard has been rejuvenated by the former Italy and Juventus manager since his appointment in the summer and has scored nine goals already.
The Belgian playmaker was taken out of the firing line for Wednesday’s trip to struggling Sunderland, but Conte is hopeful his absence won’t be a long-term one.
‘No, I don’t think [it is serious]. For this game, though, he couldn’t play. There are no easy games, for this reason we must pay attention,’ said Conte.
Oscar also missed the Sunderland match through illness – the Brazilian had earlier in the day confirmed his transfer to the Chinese Super League was 90 per cent complete.
