Chelsea duo Diego Costa and Pedro have been nominated for Premier League Player of the Month for November whilst Antonio Conte is in the running for the manager’s prize.
Conte won the prize last month for the first time since his arrival in England during the summer and will be under strong consideration for the award again after guiding his side to three wins from three in their November fixtures.
Costa, the Premier League’s top scorer with 10 to his name, and Pedro have each provided two goals in that winning run as the Blues marched to the top of the table, a remarkable achievement just two months after a 3-0 defeat at Arsenal left Chelsea eighth and eight points off the summit.
Pedro, who scored a crucial equaliser on the stroke of half-time as Chelsea beat Tottenham 2-1 on Saturday, has been one of several players to enjoy a dramatic upswing in form since Conte switched to a 3-4-3 and has started the Blues last six matches.
West Brom winger Matt Phillips, Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero and his cross-town rival Zlatan Ibrahimovic are also in the running for the player prize, which was won by Eden Hazard last month.
Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Sunderland’s David Moyes will battle Conte for the manager’s prize.
Earlier this week Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses was handed the fan’s player of the month prize by the PFA, earning 18,756 of the 40,000 votes.
