Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is eyeing a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid and could let his contract run down to push through a transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu, according to The Sun.
The Bernabeu club are banned from buying players for the next two windows.
That’s after being sanctioned by FIFA over the illegal signing of young players.
And according to The Sun Real are already planning how to bounce back when the ban is lifted in January 2018.
Despite claims earlier this week that Courtois was open to signing a new contract at Chelsea, Madrid are said to still fancy their chances of getting the Belgian star.
Real reportedly sent Courtois a goodwill message last year when the goalkeeper was ruled out for months with a knee problem.
They’re said to see the 24-year-old as their long-term No.1 and have reportedly been given a boost in that pursuit by the player himself.
He’s said to have told friends he’ll wait until the end of next season before deciding his future – by which time Real will be back operating in the market.
