The agent of Fiorentina’s Federico Bernardeschi, who has been heavily linked to Chelsea in recent weeks, has hinted the versatile winger could be moving to England in the near future.
The 22-year-old has started the season impressively with seven goals and has been linked with a transfer to several top European clubs.
However, Bernardeschi’s agent, Dario Canovi, doesn’t believe Fiorentina can compete financially with Europe’s elite and also stated there was interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
“Florence isn’t a big city and don’t have the economic means to compete with teams likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona, Juventus or Inter,” he told Italian outlet Passione Inter.
“I knew that until a few months ago there was Paris Saint-Germain on Bernardeschi. I think his value is €35-40 million.”
Bernardeschi would be an attractive proposition for clubs due to his versatility and several years spent playing in a wide variety of formations.
The winger has played in a more central role and also as an emergency striker for Fiorentina, scoring at ease and acting as one of the club’s most influential attackers.
Bernardeschi has made seven appearances for Italy since making his debut under Antonio Conte in March and the Chelsea boss may be keen to sign his compatriot as he would already be familiar with his preferred system.
Should the Blues move for him, the Serie A star would provide competition for places with current in-form right wing-back Victor Moses.
