Pat Nevin has sussed out why Eden Hazard was subdued against Middlesbrough.
The Belgian man failed to make a major impact as the Blues held on for a 1-0 win.
And Nevin thinks an early knock took its toll on Hazard.
“Eden Hazard has put in a hell of a shift but he has not has his best game,” he said on BBC Radio Five Live.
“You always come to see a player like him play – you want to see something extra special but he had a couple of knocks early on which seemed to slow him down a little I think.”
Despite Hazard not being at his blistering best, Chelsea recorded a win which sends them top of the table.
Diego Costa got the only goal, volleying home after Middlesbrough failed to clear their lines following a Hazard corner.
