Injury update: How bad is Eden Hazard’s injury?

Club football fans like me are not too fond of the international break, mainly because of the boredom that surrounds it. It also sort of breaks the rhythm of the team suddenly, particularly when they are doing well, just like Chelsea were doing in the past month.

But now there is some other news, which will make Chelsea fans hate the international break even more. BRACE YOURSELVES Blues!!! You will NOT like this. Chelsea’s arguably best player of the season so far, has injured himself while playing for his country.

And that player is, (LOOK AWAY NOW) – Eden Hazard!!

Hazard had been having some kind of trouble with his calf during Belgium’s 1-1 draw with Netherlands on Wednesday, as he was seen limping during the match. But last night it seemed he had other problems too, as he himself requested to be taken off at the 73rd minute during their 8-1 hammering of Estonia in Brussels.

The 25 year old, who was captaining Belgium, had scored his side’s third goal of the night on the 25th minute, as the Belgian Red Devils absolutely thrashed Estonia in the World Cup Qualifier. But on the 73rd minute, when his team were leading 6-1, the Chelsea player took a knock.

Promptly, he signaled towards to the bench to be taken off, and his request was immediately heeded to. It seemed like he had picked up an ankle injury, whose severity is yet to be evaluated. However, Belgium manager Roberto Martinez thinks there is nothing to worry about.

Chelsea travel to Middlesbrough on Sunday for a Premier League clash, and it can not be determined whether Eden will have to miss the match. So far this season, he has been nothing less than excellent for the Blues, and hopefully he will not have to miss out on the match. Not being able to see an in-form Eden Hazard would be such a shame.
