International breaks, somehow, always end up badly for the clubs, especially Chelsea. After the Diego Costa injury scare, Chelsea’s best player, Eden Hazard, is another superstar who has joined the list of injured players in Belgium’s 8-1 rout of Estonia.
The Belgian Captain limped away at 17 minutes after receiving a kick on the calf and had to be substituted prematurely. But, was it serious enough to send us Chelsea fans into depression? Here’s what the manager Roberto Martinez had to say after the game:
“Eden Hazard has no injury, but received a kick on the calf,” said the Belgium boss.
Hopefully, the winger will be ready for the Middlesbrough game!
Moving on, in another surprise twist, Chelsea are reportedly looking to make a bid for Tottenham Striker and English superstar Harry Kane. The 23-year-old has missed most part of this season due to injury and has only recently returned to the first team fold.
However, Kane, has been in talks over a new deal at White Hart Lane, despite having almost four years still to run on his existing £60,000-a-week contract.
Money could prove to be a major motivation, as there is expected to be a major revamp in his contract if he does decides to make a move to Chelsea.
Elsewhere, John Obi Mikel has been grabbing the headlines in the International break after his lack of involvement at Chelsea lately. The Nigerian thinks he has been mistreated by Conte and is looking to move on in January due to the lack of playing time at Bridge.
Here’s his latest comment in the series of interviews he has given during this break:
“He [Conte] has said nothing,” Mikel told The Sun. “I only train and just keep being a professional.
“This is all I can do. It’s frustrating but this is football.”
For all he has done for the club, I don’t think Mikel is in Conte’s plan for the future and it will be better if the 29-year-old leaves and extends his career somewhere else instead of getting frustrated on the bench.
