Chelsea to replace Oscar with £17m star, deal almost signed
Chelsea are reportedly close to finalising a deal to sign blistering Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu, according to Turkish newspaper Haberturk.
Rumours have arisen in recent days that Antonio Conte could part company with Brazilian midfielder Oscar, who is out of favour at Stamford Bridge.
Calhanoglu has impressed in the Bundesliga over recent seasons and is renowned for his ability to score from midfield and his long-range shooting.
The Turkey international is rated at £17 million, which would surely be a smiler fee to the one that Chelsea would demand for Oscar.
The Brazilian star has been crucial in recent years for the West London club but Conte’s switch to a 3-4-3 formation has nullified the South American’s role in the team.
Calhanoglu has been linked to a number of major Premier League teams in the past and would be a very exciting signing at Chelsea should the deal be completed.
