JOHN TERRY has named William Gallas as the best centre back partner in his career.
The defensive duo played together at Chelsea from 2001 until 2006, when Gallas moved across London to join Arsenal.
Terry played alongside a number of high-profile defenders at Stamford Bridge, including Ricardo Carvalho, David Luiz and Gary Cahill but he singled out Gallas for special praise.
“On the pitch we had an unbelievable relationship,’ he told Chelsea’s official website.
“People talk about my best partnerships over the years and we’ve had some world-class players, but I loved playing with [Gallas].”
It’s a view that is shared by the Frenchman.
“We started playing together and the balance was perfect,” added Gallas.
“That’s why we played so many games together.”
Gallas made more than 150 league appearances for Chelsea, while Terry has played in more than 700 games for the Blues.
