SEVERAL first-team Chelsea stars are in action for their Premier League 2 side this afternoon.
John Terry, Cesc Fabregas and Michy Batshuayi are in the starting line-up as Chelsea’s Under-23s take on Southampton.
The trio were all on the bench for the Blues’ Premier League win over Middlesbrough yesterday but failed to get on.
They are joined by Kurt Zouma and Marco van Ginkel in Adi Viveash’s team.
Terry, Fabregas and Van Ginkel are the side’s three over-age outfield players while Batshuayi and Zouma are eligible as Under-23 players.
Portuguese international Eduardo, who was signed from Dinamo Zagreb on a free transfer in the summer, is in goal.
Chelsea went top of the Premier League with their 1-0 win over Boro at Riverside Stadium.
Conte’s senior side are next in action on Saturday when they host Tottenham before taking on fellow title rivals Manchester City a week later.
Conte will hope his squad players can get some valuable time under their belts with the Under-23s.
Terry, Fabregas and Batshuayi have struggled to make it into Conte’s plan so far this term.
Zouma is still making his way back from his long-term knee injury and is nearing a return to first-team action.
