Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has denied that midfielder Oscar is on the verge of leaving the club.
The Italian thinks that the Brazilian is an important player for the Blues, despite recent transfer links to the likes of Inter Milan.
There have even been claims that the Londoners are eyeing Bayer Leverkusen star Hakan Calhanoglu as a replacement, but Conte doesn’t see the 25-year-old departing any time soon.
‘Oscar’s future is Chelsea. Full stop,’ said the former Juventus manager.
‘For me he is an important player in my squad he’s in good form. It’s logical I name and XI every week but he’s a great player but for me he will stay here.
‘It’s important to arrive at this message for all. I consider him an important player.’
This will be a boost to the player, who hasn’t started a Premier League game since the team switched to a 3-4-3 system last month.
The formation has brought Chelsea great success on the pitch, with five successive wins and no goals conceded, but has also forced Oscar to spend a lot of time off it.
