What a fantastic game it was!! Champions Leicester City came to Stamford Bridge, and were thrashed 3-0, in a match that saw some players put in a Herculean effort. Chelsea not only kept a clean sheet, but the defence was so good, that Leicester failed to register a single shot on target.
The match was preceded by a very unfortunate incident this week. Willian’s mother, who was battling cancer for the last two years, and had undergone five surgeries, passed away a couple of days ago. Manager Antonio Conte had told the Brazilian that he could take as long as he wants to recuperate from the tragedy.
In his absence, the players maintained the needed solemnity, and both first half goal scorers Diego Costa and Eden Hazard, dedicated their goals to Willian. The Belgian winger even explained it while talking to Sky Sports after the match.
