Frustrated player reassures Chelsea fans: “I never talked about leaving”
During the summer transfer window, there was a lot of speculation regarding goalkeeper Asmir Begovic. Most believed that the Bosnian goalkeeper would leave, since it is unlikely he will get the nod in the team ahead of first team goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, with Everton the most likely destination.
But manager Ronald Koeman replaced Tim Howard with veteran goalkeeper Maarten Steklenburg, who used to play under Koeman at Southampton. And in the end, Antonio Conte managed to convince Begovic to stay, even as he bought another goalkeeper, Eduardo, to act as a backup to both Courtois and Begovic.
