Chelsea’s bad run of results came to a halt with a comfortable 2-0 win against Hull City at the KCOM Stadium. The most notable positive about the win was the clean sheet, which was down to not only good defense, but good goalkeeping as well.
Chelsea’s defense did not have to deal with a lot of pressure, but there were times when Hull threatened to go ahead, especially in the first half. As early as on the third minute, Thibaut Courtois made a fantastic save from a free kick, which took a wicked deflection from the wall after Snodgrass hit the ball sweetly.
Courtois also made a smart save from Ryan Mason later. Only a few days ago, statistics published by Sky showed Courtois had the worst save ratio in the Premier League, but that did not take into account that mistakes made by defenders had given opponents a free run at goal, something the Goalkeeper could do nothing about. But after the second clean sheet, the Belgian can be proud of his performance.
