Any football fan, who saw Chelsea play against Liverpool and Arsenal, would tell you, that apart from horrendous defense, another area where Chelsea were found lacking, was midfield.
Against Liverpool, Costa, who has been in great form right from the start of the season, found the net. But in the first half there were hardly any chances created. At Emirates though, the midfield lacked any creativity, and attacking impetus. Totally impotent would be the best way to describe it.
The failure to supply the likes of Costa and Hazard with through balls and killer passes, is down to the bad form of Oscar, while Fabregas is down the pecking order. In such a situation, a new young attacking midfielder would have helped the cause. But the news of Mario Pasalic’s stay at Milan may cause Conte some disappointment.
