It’s Official: David Luiz and Marcos Alonso assigned new shirt numbers

Deadline day is over and Chelsea have announced their final squad numbers for the season. And some players will need to get used to some new squad numbers. Especially our Geezer.

David Luiz, who Chelsea sold to PSG for 50 million pounds two years back, has been re-signed by the Blues for around 34 million pounds this time round. And he will have to give up the number 4 which he used to wear the last time he was here.

Cesc Fabregas was given the number 4 jersey the moment he signed for Chelsea, and looks like he will be keeping it. Luiz has been given the number 30 instead. The Brazilian was said to be eager to move back to Chelsea, and he allegedly forced the move yesterday.
