Chelsea vs. Swansea City is over, and no one can deny that it was a huge disappointment. We were leading 1-0, could have been 2-0 up at the break but Costa missed his easy tap in, and that miss came back to bite us.
Two defensive errors, or rather two lapses of concentration in the second half, made sure that Swansea scored two goals in a duration of 130 seconds. Later it took a fantastic overhead bicycle kick from Costa to make it 2-2. Chelsea then failed to find a winner, even though the likes of Batshuayi, Moses and Fabregas were brought on.
But what was more enraging is that the second goal was a clear foul, when Leroy Fer kicked Cahill at the back of his legs twice before dispossessing him and going through on goal, and scoring past Thibaut Courtois. Referee Andre Marriner just waved away all of Chelsea’s appeals and let Fer score the goal. And this has left Gary Cahill Fuming.
