Chelsea midfielder reveals: “I want to leave Chelsea and play with or against Lampard in MLS”
Can you guess the name of a player, who Chelsea signed even after fierce rivals Manchester United had announced his signing? He is John Obi Mikel, or Mikel John Obi, as he is now called after his official name change. Yes, he was deemed so important in those days, that Chelsea went head to head with United to sign the then 18-year-old.
Mikel had his good days too, especially during the seasons before the last Premier League winning season. But 247 appearances and 1 goal later, Mikel seems to understand that he may have overstayed his welcome. And he is probably looking for a new club now, and that too in a different continent.
