Not a happy weekend for all of us Chelsea fans, not after a shameful first half performance against Liverpool at our own stadium during the 2-1 defeat. All of the players, apart from may be Costa and Kante, looked absolutely devoid of any energy and tenacity, conceding possession at the drop of a hat, while offering nothing in attack.
The excessively underwhelming performance meant David Luiz again made his debut in a home loss to Liverpool. Luiz would not have started the match had John Terry been fit to play. However, Luiz was not all that bad, apart from the first goal, which of course, was a result of the whole team switching off, not just the Brazilian alone.
However, former Liverpool stalwart, and now Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher though, has quite an opinion about Luiz. He reckons that even though Chelsea bought the defender back for 30 million pounds, he is not a sure name on the starting lineup, and Terry and Cahill will be the main defenders once Terry gets fit.
