Fans react as Chelsea now ready to sign James Rodriguez

All the suggestions are that Chelsea are not yet done in the transfer market and, with ten days of the window to go, there’s potential news on a big money signing coming to Stamford Bridge.

With a N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi in the door the Blues are close, according to the Express, to securing a deal for James Rodriguez after offering £60 million for the playmaker.

While Real president Florentino Perez is against selling the Colombian, manager Zinedine Zidane is open to the idea as it will free up some funds to allow him to bring in a couple of new players, either this month or in the next transfer window.

Rodriguez has struggled in Madrid since his move two years ago, and was an unused substitute in the Champions League final in May after making just 17 starting appearances in La Liga last season.

The report claims that Arsenal and Manchester United are also keen on the high-profile star but it appears Chelsea are ready to test Real’s resolve with their offer.

The bid has also split fans of the London club as, while some would love to see James join, others would rather the money was spent on other areas of the team. Interesting Chelsea fan reactions on next pages.

  1. sell Oscar n pedro to bring James, his combination with Willian n Hazard is what we would love to see. This premier is ours this time

  2. While, I don’t ready known where James with play because there is no difference between James and Oscar, they get the same way of playing. Therefore I don’t see a necessary to buy James but rather go for kaliou kouloubaly because we need defenders.

  3. It will be a better addition to our squad… Let’s bring him in before its too late…
    Let’s try harder on @Nainggolan again I like that guy a lot…

  4. Think my fingers must be to big, every time I try to go to the next page I end up with an advert. Getting just a little bit fed up with this now????????????

  5. Please let this James deal done before the transfer window close, this how we do and miss out on pogba. Mandzuki will be a good addition to Chelsea team and at the same time we should try and buy defender to help fight for the league. Up blues…..

  6. Then we must offload Oscar & besides that we must ensure we sign atleast one defender & one striker b4 transfer window is closed.

  7. signing james would be a great idea, but i think the midfield is not the problem. We should try and sign a defender, but it’s a grt idea

  8. What’s all this nonsense about Pogba. We have a more agile player in Kante. We don’t need another Shevchenko on our neck please. As for James Rod., I think koulibaly is more paramount now. But of course the Don knows best

  9. Please let this James deal done before the window transfer close, this show how we do and miss out on Pa yet.Mandzuki will be a good addition to Chelsea team and at the same time we should try and buy defender to fighter back the league.

  10. Sell oscar, sign james Rodriguez, move willian to midfield, james and hazard on both sides of willian, Costa in front…kante nd fabregas as central midfielders nd sign 2 world class defenders…we ll play exciting football

  11. We don’t need him. We have already several excellent players in his position. We just need to reinforce our defence. So Chelsea need to buy Kouibaly and another defender to replace Ivanovic.

  12. If we must get James, then offload Pedro and Cuadrado, try and buy one or two defenders, if possible 3 defenders because Ivanovic, is getting old and cannot meet up with Premier League speed, or if we can get someone who will play 3 very well, i think you should move Azpilicueta to 2, I think if we can add more good defenders, we will be able to challenge for the Premier League this season, and they cannot meet up with the Premier League demand for the whole season. The blues I wish you all the best this season.

  13. Bring James..and we want a striker to be a back up for bathshuayi.. we are tired of “Costa dramas”. sell Pedro, remy and oscar
