Chelsea transfer round-up: Chelsea face major forward setback
Just one more match, and then starts Chelsea’s quest to reach the top of the Premier League. On Sunday Chelsea face Werder Bremen in Germany in their final pre-season game before meeting West Ham United in the Premier League.
With the start of the league so near, Chelsea will want to finish their transfer business as soon as possible. And while fans can expect one or two more signings, nobody is quite sure who they will be. Here’s a round-up of every single rumour.
Chelsea might suffer a setback in their bid to re-sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku. Everton are trying very hard to keep the big Belgian forward, and are set to offer him a new lucrative contract, with wages of 135,000 pounds per week. Everton already put a price of 75 million pounds on Lukaku’s head, and rejected a 57 million pound bid from Chelsea earlier. Chelsea were ready to offer 65 million pounds plus Loic Remy in a cash plus player deal, but it seems Everton are determined to hold on to the player who was phenomenal for them last season. (ESPN)
