Chelsea 2 – 3 Real Madrid – Match report and initial reaction

After winning 3 games in a row, Chelsea took on arguably their toughest game of the preseason, when they squared off against Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid in Michigan, USA. It was Eden Hazard who saved us from some blushes by scoring a brace in a rather dire performance from the Blues.

Here’s the match report:

– With Cesc Fabregas suspended for the red card he collected against Liverpool (Yes, apparently this rule applies in the preseason games as well), it was Oscar who replaced the Spaniard, Pedro for Moses being the only other change.

– Chelsea started the game positively, with Matic almost opening the scoring inside the 2 minute mark through a Willian free kick. And yes he missed!
