Pedro Happy At Chelsea, Defends Costa’s Lack Of Goals

Pedro’s arrival at Chelsea has helped the Blues be a bit more multi-dimensional in the attack.

But, it’s not only Chelsea who are set to reap the award of having a goalscoring winger on the Right Wing, but even Pedro is quite happy to start regularly compared to his bit part role at Barcelona.

The 28-year-old thinks that regular minutes will help him secure his position in the Spanish national team and will also help his confidence going forward:

“I am happy with how my time has started at Chelsea.

“When you have more minutes you can play at a different rhythm with more confidence and a different mentality. I am sure the move will be very good for me to play both at Chelsea and with the national team.”

Hopefully, it will also help him reach that next level on the pitch. Having him and an in-form Eden Hazard on either wing could very well be a nightmare for the opposition side.

The Spanish winger also defended his team-mate Diego Costa who seems to be struggling for goals with Spain. Yesterday, it was Vicente Del Bosque who supported Costa and today it was Pedro’s turn to defend him:

“I think Diego Costa is doing a good job in the national team. The only question mark is that he is not having much luck in front of goal.

“But he creates lots of spaces for the team, he gives us a lot of solutions and the goals will come.”

Diego Costa isn’t having a great time with Chelsea either. The 26-year-old has hit a bad patch with us and is struggling to recover his form that terrorized the Premier League last season.

Hopefully, he hits his strides sooner rather than later. We definitely need him firing up those goals upfront!
