Newcastle United vs Chelsea – Blues’ Possible Starting Eleven

Okay, so amongst all the controversies, trolling and Wenger bashing, Chelsea travels to St. James Park to square off against Steve Mclaren’s Newcastle United.

Now, St. James Park has never been a happy ground for Jose Mourinho, but perhaps this is the best moment for him to snatch his first win against Newcastle away. Mclaren’s side has had a horrible start to the season and they currently sit at 19th position in the League.

With Diego Costa suffering his 3-match ban, Mourinho would be without his premier Striker. Other than him, only Courtois would be unavailable for us due to injury as Willian is deemed fit for the game. Here’s how we think the manager might lineup today:

GK – ASMIR BEGOVIC

No doubts here as the Bosnian will take the gloves once again in the absence of Courtois.

CB – KURT ZOUMA AND GARY CAHILL

John Terry had a good outing against Walsall, but Kurt Zouma is expected to return to the side alongside Gary Cahill in the Central Defense.

FULLBACKS – BRANISLAV IVANOVIC AND CESAR AZPILICUETA

After a couple of good performances, Lalkovic exposed the Serbian beast yet again in the last game, but that wouldn’t stop Mourinho from starting Ivanovic at Right Back as Azpilicueta comes back at the Left Back spot.

CM – NEMANJA MATIC AND CESC FABREGAS

Mikel and Ramires gave a brilliant performance against Walsall, but it would most probably be the return of Matic and Fabregas in the midfield.

WINGERS – EDEN HAZARD AND PEDRO

The duo would start in the wings once again as Hazard would look to open his goalscoring account against Newcastle. Kenedy and Willian will have to drop to the bench.

CAM – OSCAR

The Brazilian didn’t play any part in the midweek fixture as he was nursing his knee injury. However, Oscar is expected to start today in the No. 10 role after his very good performance against Arsenal.

STRIKER – LOIC REMY

After watching the performance of both the Strikers in midweek, Remy should definitely start this game against his old club unless, Mourinho decides that Falcao is more equipped to deal with the physicality of Coloccini at the back.
