Our Preseason hero Victor Moses; the Nigerian who was set to stay with the Blues to provide depth on the wings; the man who was actually “in-form” compared to our other attacking midfielders, heads out on loan. Again.
The 24-year-old winger joined Chelsea in 2012 from Wigan before heading out on loan to Liverpool. The time at Merseyside didn’t prove to be of much benefit, though, as the youngster struggled for regular minutes.
Next up, it was Stoke City and the Nigerian was very impressive during his time with the Potters on loan in the subsequent year, meaning, a shot at the first team under Mourinho!
Moses duly grabbed the opportunity with both hands as he impressed in the preseason and turned out to be the only in-form player up front before going down with some injury. And before we could blink an eye; another loan spell, this time at West Ham!
What is surprising, though, is that the Nigerian didn’t leave the Bridge before signing a 4-year extension! Given that, he has spent most of his time on loan and is already 24-years-old, one would think he transfer would be permanent? Apparently not!
“Victor Moses has today signed a new four-year contract with Chelsea and will spend the remainder of this season on loan at West Ham United.”

The loan deal is reported to cost the Hammers around 2.5 Million Pounds with West Ham agreeing to pay all of the 70,000 pounds weekly wages of the Nigerian.
What I still can’t wrap up my head around, is the fact that, if Moses has signed a contract extension, does this mean he still has a shot with Chelsea in the future? Or the contract extension just serves as a mean to increase his value in the future?
Anyways, Moses leaving means, we have a couple of 19-years-old in Kenedy and Traore to provide backup to Pedro, Willian and Hazard on the wings! This sure is gonna be an interesting season!
