Loan Roundup – Lucas Piazon, Hector, Feruz And Boga

The last day of the summer transfer market is always fun. There are usually one or two interesting, last minute deals involved while, there are also some hilarious moments (see David De Gea and Manchester United!)

For Chelsea, though, the last day marked the signing of Papy Djilopodji from Nantes to provide the necessary depth at the Center Back spot. In addition to that, there were quite a few loan deals involved and here we take a look at all of them:

“Lucas Piazon has today joined Reading on a season-long loan.

“Piazon, 21, spent last season at Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, where he made 23 appearances and scored two goals.

“Reading are managed by former Chelsea player and coach Steve Clarke.”

You definitely remember Lucas Piazon, don’t you? The Brazilian had a wonderful time at Vitesse a couple of years back, but the last season at Bundesliga wasn’t good enough to grant him a shot at the first team.

Now, Championship might be considered a step down from Bundesliga, but, reportedly, the youngster wants to prove himself in England to have a chance in Mourinho’s side. We wish him good luck with that!

“Islam Feruz has today (Tuesday) joined Hibernian on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old striker will spend the campaign at the Edinburgh club who play in the Scottish Championship.”

Islam Feruz used to be our youth superstar a couple of years back, but the Striker has seemingly lost his way in the last few years. Struggling to get back to his usual self, we wish the striker a very good luck in his new loan club!

“Chelsea Football Club have today completed the signing of Michael Hector from Reading.

“The 23-year-old centre-back, who has signed a five-year-contract, will return to Reading and spend the remainder of this season on loan at the Madejski Stadium.”

Now, this deal might seem a bit out of the Blue, but, apparently, Michael Hector is a wonderful prospect who made 49 appearances for Reading last season and even Captained his side first time last week.

He has also represented Jamaica at international level and started all three of their matches at this summer’s Copa America!

“Jeremie Boga has joined Stade Rennes of Ligue 1 on loan until the end of the season.”

The Frenchman was one of our top performer in the youth league last season, and a loan move to the French League made sense for Boga. Hopefully, he continues his development at Rennes on loan!
