Everton vs. Chelsea-Things We Learned From The Loss

Another match, another defeat. This time it was Everton who gave Chelsea hell and wrapped up the points with relative ease. Let’s have a look at the things we learned.

Crisis Mode is definitely on

With Chelsea slipping to their 2nd consecutive defeat, it is now the worst ever start to a League season since 1988 by the blues. With 4 points in 5 games, Chelsea are sitting just above the relegation zone having conceded the highest number of goals in the entire league this season. So it’s fair to say, something is horribly wrong.

Branislav Ivanovic has to be dropped

Many people have been calling for this since the first game itself. But now it seems a must if Chelsea are to improve. Most of the goals are coming from the right-hand side, and it is really depressing trying to watch Ivanovic cross. With Baba in the side, we might see Azpilicueta at RB and Baba at LB on Wednesday.

Fabregas too needs to be dropped, at least for a few games

Fabregas did no favors to his form with another poor performance yesterday. Maybe it’s time to drop him as well.  Jose, no stranger to making difficult choices, will have to make another one in the near future, whether he’ll play a star player who contributed a lot to Chelsea’s title winning last season.

Oscar is badly missed

It’s fair to say Chelsea looked their best in the first 45 minutes against Swansea on opening day.

What might not seem a coincidence is that Oscar was phenomenal that day and even scored an amazing goal. He is brilliant in the transition phase of the game and makes our counters much more agile. With him expected to start on Wednesday, happier times lay ahead.

The Club as a whole needs to show some spirit

As they say, if you can’t support us when we lose, don’t do so when we win. Those words are of utmost importance now, as the fixtures are going to come thick and fast. So we do not have the time to sulk. The players know that, and the fans need to know that as well. If this season goes on to be a successful one, no doubt it’ll be

If this season goes on to be a successful one, no doubt it’ll be more sweeter not only for us the supporters but also for the players and especially Jose Mourinho, who has always won the title race by being at the front from game 1.
