Everton vs Chelsea – Blues’ Possible Starting Eleven
After such a bad start to our Premier League defense, an injury wasn’t the one thing we could have afforded, yet, Thibaut Courtois is out long-term with a knee injury. Sigh!
With just 4 points in 4 games and 8 points behind the leader, this is a high time for Chelsea to wake up from their slumber and start winning football matches. City looks to be in an ominous form and with the signing of De Bruyne, they have only become stronger in the international break, a sharp contrast to us.
Hopefully, International breaks have provided enough time for Mourinho to reassess his side’s weaknesses. So, here’s how we think Mourinho might line-up against the Toffees:
GK – ASMIR BEGOVIC
Courtois is out with a long-term injury which provides Begovic with an excellent opportunity to show his class for an extended period of time. Hopefully, he grabs it with his both, bucket-size hands!
CB – GARY CAHILL AND KURT ZOUMA
John Terry is still out suspended after accumulating that Red Card while, we don’t expect Papy Djilobodji to start just yet. Cahill and Zouma are the only viable options unless Mourinho decides to drop Ivanovic in the middle! Although, the chances of that looks very slim.
FULLBACKS – CESAR AZPILICUETA AND BRANISLAV IVANOVIC
I would love to see Baba Rahman making his debut on the Left side with Azpilicueta slotting in as a Right Back. But, with John Terry suspended, I expect Ivanovic to start yet again on the right.
CM – NEMANJA MATIC AND CESC FABREGAS
Could Mourinho surprise us all and start Loftus-Cheek instead of Fabregas? Well, I wouldn’t be surprised if that happens, but knowing Mourinho, I will still back Fabregas to start alongside Matic.
WINGERS – EDEN HAZARD AND PEDRO
No doubts here. Kenedy might have impressed us in his short cameo, but it would definitely be Hazard and Pedro on the Left and Right Wing respectively, at Goodison Park tomorrow.
CAM – WILLIAN
We expected Oscar to be fit for this match but as it turns out, “Oscar won’t be available tomorrow but is ‘almost there’ and could be in contention to feature next Wednesday.”
STRIKER – RADAMEL FALCAO
I am gonna take a chance here and say it would be Falcao who starts over Costa tomorrow. The Spaniard has been struggling with us and his national side while, Falcao has looked good in his limited outings with the Blues. I would expect him to start over Costa tomorrow.
