Ahead of the very important clash with Everton at Goodison Park, Chelsea have suffered an injury blow as our first choice Goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, hurt his knee in training with Belgium National Team.
News of the problem came via Kristof Terreur of HLN after the international break: “Thibaut Courtois suffered a knee injury on training yesterday. Full extent of injury yet unknown.”

This is one of the major reasons why I hate International breaks! They are bound to hurt you in some way or the other. Fortunately, we did a pretty smart business in the summer by acquiring Asmir Begovic from Stoke City.
The Bosnian keeper is as good as, if not better than Thibaut Courtois in front of the goals. Although, the extent of the Belgian’s injury is not yet known and for all we know, he could be fit to start against the Toffees on the weekend.
But, if Courtois does miss the game, I don’t think anyone would be alarmed watching Begovic start for us.
Anyways, it’s always nice to have fit players in the squad and we hope Courtois gets back to his full fitness sooner rather than later. We’ve got a million problems on our hands anyway, an injury to our first choice keeper wouldn’t be something Mourinho would like to entertain!
