A desperate win was what we asked for, a comfortable win was what we got.
Chelsea have kick-started their Champions League campaign with a 4-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv. The recent struggles of senior players meant that Jose was forced to test his bench strength and boy did the players replied positively!
Willian looked to be one of the best players for the Blues in the opening few minutes as the Brazilian opened the scoring for us with a brilliant free kick. But, unfortunately, the winger pulled his hamstring muscles and had to be taken off after just 20 minutes.
With Pedro already injured, Chelsea needed Willian desperately on the Right Wing for the weekend game against Arsenal, but, as it turns out, both the players would be unavailable for the big clash in two days time!
Here’s a tweet from our official twitter account:
Jose says he will only start thinking about team selection for the Arsenal game tomorrow. He says Willian and Pedro are out for sure. #CFC

So, no Willian and Pedro for the Gooners clash!
I would like to think this means more game time for Bertrand Traore/Robert Kenedy, as the duo has only impressed in their limited outing on the field. But knowing Mourinho and also due to our shaky start, there’s a very big chance we go in with Ramires on the Right-Hand side ahead of the youngsters.
Even Loic Remy on the wings is a possibility, guess, we will have to wait and see!
