Chelsea vs Arsenal – Blues’ Possible Starting Eleven

Would today be the day our Premier League season gets back on track? Or would Jose Mourinho lose to Wenger second time in a couple of months?

Our win against Maccabi on Wednesday must have raised the confidence of the group, but Premier League is a different ball game altogether. With Willian out injured and Pedro, Oscar and Falcao still a doubt, the fixtures ain’t gonna be easy, that’s for sure.

Keeping that in mind, we predict how Jose Mourinho might start at Stamford Bridge in a few hours time:

GK – ASMIR BEGOVIC

No doubts here as Begovic would start in the absence of injured Thibaut Courtois.

CB – GARY CAHILL AND JOHN TERRY

The English duo is expected to start alongside each other ahead of Kurt Zouma. Gary Cahill was excellent against Maccabi Tel Aviv while, John Terry could be back in the starting lineup.

FULLBACKS – CESAR AZPILICUETA AND BRANISLAV IVANOVIC

Baba Rahman might have had a decent game in the midweek, but Ivanovic will most likely return into the starting eleven on the Right side as Azpilicueta drops on the Left.

CM – NEMANJA MATIC, CESC FABREGAS, AND RUBEN LOFTUS-CHEEK

We are most likely set to start in a 4-3-3 formation as Matic and mid week’s hero, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, start in the Central Midfield while Fabregas starts in a bit of an advanced role.

WINGERS – EDEN HAZARD AND OSCAR

Eden Hazard will, no doubt, start on the Left Wing while, Oscar, if fit, will start on the Right.

STRIKER – DIEGO COSTA

Costa is expected to slot in up front after scoring a goal against Maccabi Tel Aviv. Hopefully, he finds his League form back.
