Belgian Manager, Marc Wilmots, Describe Hazard As “Worst”!

Last season, all  Eden Hazard managed with his performances were showers of praise and genuine appreciation from all corners of the world. Things doesn’t seem so rosy this time around, though.

The Belgian, who helped Chelsea clinch the much awaited Premier League title and the Capital One Cup last time around with magical shows on the field, has been missing that x-factor for some reasons.

Of all the four games we have played this season, the 24-year-old has looked sub-par and, for some reason, uninterested in taking on his man, which is a shock because he used to that all the time last season. Described as a defender’s nightmare, he would smoke any fullback with his pace and trickeries; that’s not the case this time around, though.

Currently on national team duty, Hazard has scored a couple of goals in the two Euro qualifiers so far. If you thought that the International breaks would help him get back to his best of forms, you may be wrong.

After scoring a late winner in the last night’s game against Cyprus, you would think Belgian National Team Coach, Marc Wilmots will throw praises at Eden Hazard. But here’s what he had to say after the game:

“Hazard was the worst. I thought about substituting him, but in the last 10 minutes he always has the ability to do that. At the World Cup, this was the case.

I obviously expect more from him, but he will grow as the season progresses. We won two games in a row but this is the poorest team performance I have seen and we will try to rectify the issue.”

Even when he managed to score a winner, he was the “worst” of the lot!

Marc Wilmots also criticized Christian Benteke for his “half-efforts” and substituted him at the half time mark, if that’s any consolation.

Seriously though, Eden Hazard needs to lift his game big time in the next few days. The winger has been criticised by fans, pundits, columnists, his national team coach, even Mourinho has admitted he is not happy with his form. Maybe, it’s the right time for Hazard to show the world just why he is considered one of the very best on the field.

If he doesn’t do that, we are definitely in trouble!
