A lot has been written and said about our loss against Fiorentina yesterday.
A lot of questions has been raised regarding our preparation for the coming season and discussions about, are we equipped enough to defend the title, has been thrown around.
Frankly, we could ponder over all such things all day long, but it’s the verdict of the manager which is most important. Let’s see what Mourinho had to say about our loss yesterday:
“I thank Fiorentina for the good training session because it was a competitive training session,’ he said.
“The players that didn’t play on Sunday played 60 minutes, for the others it was 30 minutes. Hopefully there were no injuries.
“We have the real football on Saturday and today we couldn’t face this game in another way. We got competitive minutes against a good team who played for a result and gave us a very good training session. It’s a long season with 10 months of competition, and I’m happy with where we are.”
Mourinho again plays down the loss by insisting that it was just a “good training session” just like he did against Arsenal. Even all the Chelsea fans want to believe that, but there’s some anxiety among the supporters. The real football starts in a couple of days, let’s hope we don’t screw up then!

Oh, and Victor Moses is fit to start against Swansea although, Mourinho isn’t so sure about Costa:
“I won’t risk my reputation again. You asked me before last weekend and I told you he was ready to play. He wasn’t. I don’t know. I don’t risk saying yes, and I don’t risk saying no. On Friday at the next press conference I think I will tell you again that I don’t know.”

Damn! Isn’t there a way to replace Costa’s hamstrings with, say, Ramires? After watching the performance of our strikers in the last two games, I hope the Spaniard gets back to his full fitness, sooner rather than later!
