Kurt Zouma was one of the very few players who managed to impress us last night in a rather horrible performance from the Blues.
Sure, we conceded a couple of goals against a mid-table side, but blaming Zouma for any of those goals would be wrong. Although, it’s also true that, being a defender, Zouma has to take the responsibility for the defeat and that’s exactly what he did after the game:
“Sometimes we concede goals and sometimes we don’t, but we know we have not been good defensively and we have to improve that.
“I’m a defender so I’m very disappointed and very sad for that. We have to speak to each other and be really concentrated in games and in training as well. We have a strong team and we have to show that on the pitch.
“We can only think about winning the next game and starting to get clean sheets. I hope we will be back stronger in two weeks.”
Spoken like an experienced player. Zouma does gives you the vibe of someone who is matured for his age. The Frenchman’s performance along with Kenedy and Falcao were few of the positives that can be taken from the dismal show at the Bridge.
With the next game a fortnight away, we need to buckle up and improve AS A TEAM, if we have to have any chance of Fighting for the Premier League title.
“We are very disappointed with the result. The target was to win the game to confirm the win last week. Crystal Palace played well and we congratulate them, but we have to think about the next game now.
“We have a little break of two weeks and we have to recover very well and then come back stronger.”

Indeed, we have to!
There is already an indication from Mourinho that players like Ivanovic might be dropped for the trip to Goodison Park while, one would think that the place of Costa and Fabregas would be in doubt to with Falcao and RLC lurking behind.
I have my doubts that we are going to defend our Premier League title, but the least we can do is play like Champions!
