Kurt Zouma Talks About Manchester City Game

Amidst all the controversies surrounding Jose Mourinho and Chelsea Football Club; Yes, I am getting a little anxious going into this season.

Manchester City have looked a class above the rest in the first weekend of the Premier League and although, it’s too soon to jump on any conclusion, there’s no denying that we are unstable internally. The need of a CB, the Eva Carneiro controversy, the Diego Costa injury conundrum; there’s definitely a lot going on and that’s why our next game against City could prove vital in the context of this season.

The good news though is the players doesn’t look fazed amidst all the instability. Yesterday, John Terry looked upbeat in an interview while, today it’s Kurt Zouma who has been talking to our Official website. The Frenchman remembers the last season when we drew 1-1 with Manchester City at the end of January maintaining our 5 points lead at the top:

The Frenchman remembers the last season when we drew 1-1 against Manchester City at the end of January, thereby maintaining our 5 points lead at the top:

“It is a good memory. And it was an important stage in my development.

“First of all I played the game and I was really proud of that. We drew 1-1 and we defended well. For my part I think I did well against a good attack, helping the team to a draw.

“We know we are playing against a good team on Sunday and it will be difficult, but we have a chance to win. I think it will be a very interesting game.

“It’s a chance early in the season to show why we are champions. We want to defend our title. The season after a very good season is always hard, but we have to show we are ready to try and do it.”

I am always amazed listening to Kurt Zouma talk! The 20-year-old has always got a smile on his face and comes around as someone with a very matured head above his shoulders. Good thing he plays for us, for I see a very bright future for him under the guidance of Terry and co.

Talking about last season; it was a different scenario. They were missing their talisman Yaya Toure and Silva was out of form. Oh, and we were sitting pretty with a five-point lead at the top!

None of that matters this time around, though. Yaya Toure looks as good as ever and it will be difficult to stop Silva on his strides when there are also players like Sterling to take care of on opposite wing. It’s gonna be a hell of a contest and in order to come out victorious, I think we will have to be at our very best!
