As I mentioned in my previous article, Thibaut Courtois’ ban has been upheld by the FA!
Tha Football Association released a statement:
“Therefore, the player’s one-match suspension, which is the standard penalty for this offence, remains with immediate effect.
“For a club to be successful with a claim of wrongful dismissal, it must prove to an Independent Regulatory Commission via written and/or video evidence that the match referee made an obvious error.”

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to the Blues fans as this was bound to happen. Given our history with the FA and the fact that they think Michael Oliver had “a very good match”, we had no chance overruling this ban anyway.
So, now, what this means is, Asmir Begovic will don the gloves on our trip to Etihad next week. After watching him keep against Swansea in the second half, I don’t have any doubt going into this game; I guess, that’s one thing you get by having 2 quality Goalkeepers in your squad. This also means Jamal Blackman will feature on our bench as the backup Goalkeeper.
Hopefully, Begovic puts in a stellar performance! After all, the form City are in, we will need him to be at his very best, come Sunday!
