Chelsea vs Crystal Palace – Blues’ Possible Starting Eleven

Rejoice folks, for the Premier League weekend, is back again!

Chelsea sitting uncomfortably at the 10th position faces the prospect of Crystal Palace at home, who are sitting comfortably at the 5th position. A win is a must, a draw would be a disaster while a loss, well, let’s just not talk about that, okay?

Alan Pardew’s side have improved a lot from last season, with the addition of players like Patrick Bamford and Yohan Cabaye and are set to challenge for the top ten spot. Chelsea, meanwhile, being the Premier League Champion, are expected to grab the 3 points tomorrow.

So, here’s how we think Mourinho might start against the Glaziers:

GK – THIBAUT COURTOIS

No Doubts here, as our No.1 shot-stopper starts ahead of the equally impressive Asmir Begovic tomorrow!

CB – GARY CAHILL AND KURT ZOUMA

In the absence of John Terry, who would be serving his ban after the sending off against West Brom, it’s the duo of Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma who are expected to start tomorrow.

FULLBACKS – CESAR AZPILICUETA AND BRANISLAV IVANOVIC

A part of me hopes for a Baba Rahman debut, but, in the absence of Terry, I think Mourinho will go with the experience of Ivanovic at the back. Azpilicueta is a sure starter at the Left Back spot!

CM – NEMANJA MATIC AND CESC FABREGAS

Again, doesn’t matter how much out of form bot of them are, the duo are sure starters at the Bridge tomorrow. When the backup option is Ramires, RLC, and Obi Mikel, even I would go with an out of form Matic over them!

WINGERS – PEDRO AND EDEN HAZARD

Eden Hazard owns the Left Wing while, Pedro has already scribbled his name over Willian on the Right Wing, after just one game!

CAM – OSCAR/WILLIAN

Oscar faces a late fitness test ahead of the game against Palace. If the Brazilian is deemed fit, he will most probably start over Willian, otherwise the one with the Afro will retain his place as a No.10.

STRIKER – DIEGO COSTA

Afte opening his account against West Brom last week, the Spaniard is set to start against Palace. Hopefully, he riles up some defenders, get them sent off, scores a hat-trick and fly over the Bridge dropping some cookies for the Chelsea fans!
Or, maybe, just score a goal?
