Arsenal have not yet given up on the idea of bringing Karim Benzema to the Emirates. When asked about Benzema, Arsene Wenger said:

Manchester City are believed to be close to signing Fulham youngster Patrick Roberts. The English winger was seen entering Wilmslow Hospital for a medical, the same place Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph had their medical for City. The transfer fee is said to be around 2 million pounds.

Former Chelsea player and current Manchester City target Kevin De Bruyne will be staying at Wolfsburg this year according to Wolfsburg manager Dieter Hecking. Although City are yet to submit a formal bid, City director Txiki Begiristain is said to have met De Bruyne’s representatives.

Manchester United are reportedly considering triggering out of favour Barcelona Forward Pedro’s 22 million pound release clause. Pedro, who has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, is desperate for first-team football, and Van Gaal is ready to offer him a regular starting position.

Dutch giants, Ajax have resigned to their fate of losing goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen to Manchester United. It is understood that David de Gea will eventually leave for Real Madrid next season, if not this season, and Van Gaal has targeted the Holland shot stopper to take the reins. Ajax manager Frank de Boer said:
“We want to keep him, and he wants to stay, but if Manchester United come with a bag of money it can be difficult.”
