Tomas Kalas Reportedly Heads Out On Loan
We might be dormant in this transfer window for some reason so far, but the loan deals are happening thick and fast.
Marco Van Ginkel to Stoke City, Izzy Brown and Nathan to Vitesse and Andreas Christensen to Monchengladbach has already been finalised. Now, it’s time for Tomas Kalas to head out to his loan destination. Yes, you guessed it right, Middlesbrough it is!
“Boro have today completed the loan signing of Tomas Kalas. The Czech Republic Defender agreed a one year deal to rejoin Boro on loan from Chelsea over the weekend. And after the deal was rubber-stamped this morning he joined Aitor Karanka’s squad to jet out to pre-season training in Marbella.”

Although, the deal is not official yet at the Chelsea website but according to Gazettelive, it’s just a matter of time before it does.
The 22-year-old versatile defender, who can play as a Right-Back and Centre-Back made 17 appearances for the Championship side last season after completing the deal in January. It’s reported that many clubs were interested in acquiring the services of Kalas, but the defender insisted for a move to Boro. Aitor Karanka, the manager of Middlesbrough has been an assistant to Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid so the deal sounds perfect for the both the parties involved.
Tomas Kalas made his senior debut in a 3–0 friendly win against Slovakia in November 2012 while, everyone remembers his debut against Liverpool! Now, if Kalas can remain fit and establish himself as a regular in Aitor Karanka’s side, he will have a very good chance to break into our side next season!
Good luck Tomas! We will keep an eye on you!
