Radamel Falcao’s First Interview In The Blue Shirt!

Radamel Falcao has been the marquee signing of our not so marquee transfer window so far.

The Colombian had a horrible time at Old Trafford last season under Louis Van Gal. Consequently, everyone was surprised when Jose Mourinho opted to take him on a year-long loan at the Bridge.

Will Mourinho bring out the best in Radamel Falcao? That seems to be the question on the lips of every Chelsea fan and even our rivals. We will probably get an answer to that next month but till then, let’s hear what Falcao had to say in his first interview in the Blue shirt:

“I am with a lot of motivation to join Chelsea. I have challenged myself to play in the Premier League and I am enjoying living this experience with a lot of motivation, with a lot of concentration, because I want to triumph with Chelsea. I want to win the league and to be important in the team.”

Although, the 29-year-old might be past his prime, but he has still got the capabilities to contribute for us in a major way. Let’s hope he can bring his A game with us!
The most important thing is that the manager has the full trust in the Colombian and the Striker acknowledges that:

“He (Mourinho) sent some messages to support me and he said that he believes in me and has faith in me, and for that reason I am very grateful to him and I want to give my 100 percent for the team and for him.”

Ah! Mourinho and his phone! Both if them together always find a way to persuade or motivate a player!

Finally, Falcao had a few kind words for his old friend Diego Costa:

“He (Costa) is crazy! And happy. I know him from Atletico and we enjoyed very good times. We shared very good moments and he is a great guy. Among funny moments there, I remember from the cold pool he sent the water over the players – every time.

‘We are used to playing together, and the 2012/13 year was very good for Atletico when we scored a lot of goals. We are different kinds of strikers and we complement each other.”

Diego Costa talked about Radamel Falcao and expressed his happiness on his arrival. Seems like they get along very well. Now only if they can work that partnership on the pitch, we are all set for the new season.
