Must Read! Players Interview – Most Memorable Goals Ever Scored

Chelseafc, the official Chelsea site, conducted an interview few days ago where they asked the players about their most memorable goals. Let’s take a look at what everyone had to say on the matter. I am sure you will enjoy it!

Everyone remembers the two brilliant strikes by Oscar against Juventus in the Champions League in 2012, one of which even took the goal of the season award in 2013! No doubt Oscar chose one of the goals as his personal favorite:

“The second one I scored in that game. It was my first start for the club, a big game in the Champions League. I’d already scored one, but to score a second like that was amazing for me.

When pressed for his favourite all-time goal scored by another player, Oscar opted for a fellow countryman.

“That’s a difficult question but I would say Ronaldo’s second goal in the 2002 World Cup final against Germany. It was a quality goal, I’m choosing that mainly for its importance because I remember watching it at home and going crazy.”

Kurt Zouma only joined us last season from the French side St. Etienne. When asked about his favorite choice, he replied:

“It was one I scored for St-Etienne against Lyon, so it was a big derby game.

It was my first derby goal. A corner came into the near post and I managed to get to it first and head it in, that made it 1-0, but the game finished 1-1.”

When inquired about the best goal he has ever witnessed in his life, Zouma recalled the Eden Hazard penalty against Arsenal among his personal favourite:

‘It was Eden Hazard’s penalty against Arsenal, because of the way he got the ball and dribbled through their defence, won a penalty and then scored it,’ says the Frenchman. ‘In that moment it made me realise he had the ability to just change the game from nothing.

When our Captain, Leader, Legend was asked about his personal favorite, the answer was rather obvious:

“It has to be Barcelona at the Bridge in 2005 for the importance of it and the way the night had gone. Also the fact it came against one of the best sides in the world.”
