Chelsea has made their first potential signing in the likes of Falcao, along with couple of youngsters from Brazil and it has been an absolute gamble by Jose Mourinho.
However, with a Colombian arriving at the Bridge, another Colombian’s time appears to be ceasing soon. Yes, unfortunately, Juan Cuadrado’s may take an exit door. Mourinho wants to conclude the deal for Cuadrado as soon as possible, and has called upon super-agent Jorge Mendes to crack the deal for the ex- Fiorentina man.
Cuadrado joined Chelsea in January last season and his stay at Chelsea has been a struggle. The pacey winger has been benched due to some of the top drawer performances from Brazilian beast Willian. It looks more evident now, as major top flights like Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Inter Milan and Juventus are still weighing up a move for the Chelsea misfit.
According to reports in major tabloids like Express and Metro, Juventus are leading the chase and are favorites to sign Cuadrado on a season-long loan deal.
Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta spoke on Cuadrado’s loan move. “We are open to all possibilities.”
Marotta said in quotes reported by Football Italia. “If Chelsea were open to releasing him on loan, we’d be very happy with that.”
However, if rumors are to believed, Spanish high-flyers are also looking to acquire the services of the Colombian wide man. ESPN were the first to report about Cuadrado’s departure to Valencia on a loan deal and also an option to sign him permanently at the end of the season.
Chelsea would like to sell Juan Cuadrado as quickly as possible and also want to recoup the 23 million euros they forked out for signing Cuadrado from Fiorentina. Since, Valencia’s takeover in May 2014 by Peter Lim, Valencia have seen six loan deals out of which 5 loan deals have been made permanent, including ex- Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo. So a loan deal to Valencia might make more sense for Cuadrado.
Conclusion: Cuadrado’s stay at Chelsea has been a struggle and a loan deal might just change his fate. Also, a successful loan deal might help Chelsea to minimize the loss and sell him for a nominal transfer fee.
